The TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Iron Set consists of irons individually engineered, resulting in the enhancement of multiple club properties that promote distance, uniform distance-gaps, increased playability and better sound and feel. A multi-functional sole lowers the center of gravity and reduces turf-drag to make it easy to launch shots high and long, while the inverted cone in each clubface is strategically sized and shaped center of gravity location in each head is precision-placed to optimize long-, middle- and short-iron flight; high-coefficient of restitution faces promote fast ball speed for long distance in the long-irons.

Maximizing Distance and Power
The Burner line of irons are built for distance with stronger lofts and longer shafts than a typical iron.  The newer TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons have even more improvements to help give you more distance without giving up the accuracy that you desperately need.
If you have not seen the commercial yet with long hitting Dustin Johnson, then you should hop on YouTube and take a peek at it.  He hits the 3 iron a very long ways for anybody hitting a 3 iron and it is pretty accurate for someone of his ability.
This does not mean you are going to fly your 3 iron over 250 yards, but you can add 10 or 15 yards of distance to your iron game with these sticks.  These are designed to give you more accuracy and distance in the longer irons with a wider sole design and to give you the best feel and accuracy in the shorter irons with a much thinner sole that most players desire.
The TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons are the best of both worlds making them the answer to the hybrid/iron sets that higher handicap players use.  These are built for those that are able to hit good golf shots, but might need the right equipment to take their game to the next level.
Taylormade took the time to figure out a way to develop eight individual clubs instead of just eight clubs that fit into a set.  This means you have a different club in your hand that will give you a different result every single time.
Some golfers struggle with one or two of their irons simply because of a design flaw.  This will not be found in the TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons since the precision of the design is flawless.  These irons are meant to fit any player of any ability, but the truth is they are designed for those that are between a 5 and 25 handicap.  If you are a beginner golfer or are not a very good golfer at all, then these are not for you.
Features of the Taylor Made Burner 2.0 Irons
  • Thin Face for speed and distance
  • Sound System Technology
  • CG location for each Iron
  • Low Resistance Soles
  • Inverted Cone Technology

Also, on the other side of things, if you are a very low handicap golfer, then these are not meant for you because they are built for accuracy while adding distance.  This means you will not get as much spin from these clubs as you might be used to and controlling the golf ball might be a bit more difficult for someone that likes to work the ball both right and left.
The design of these irons is meant to deliver a faster ball speed and it is designed to make your missed shots better.  If you watched the commercial with Dustin Johnson hitting the 3 iron, then you might have noticed at the bottom there is a caption that states he does not play these specific irons in the tournaments he enters.
He is a highly skilled golfer and is not in need of any more distance.  This is why he plays a different product from TaylorMade that is specifically designed for him.
These are perfect for those that know how to play golf and can hit the ball solid most of the time.  They can help you improve your iron play, which can lead to more chances for birdie and par without having to chip in or get up and down from around the green.  They have a great design for the mid handicap golfer trying to get to a lower handicap as well.
If you are a highly skilled golfer, then you know getting a custom fit set of golf clubs is the only way to go.  However, for those that don’t shoot around par on a regular basis the TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons might just be the set of irons you have been looking for.
