Callaway X-22 Irons specs

The Callaway tour irons have been developed so the clubs look like ones the professionals use. The top of the irons are thinner than the forged ones, and the sole of the clubs are smaller. These clubs give a lower handicapper a greater amount of feel on the shots. The X-22 forged irons have cavity backs and an even lower center of gravity than the tour irons. These changes make balls easier to hit when using the longer irons for the mid- to high handicapper. However, the shorter irons have a higher center of gravity, which improves the flight of the ball when it is struck.

The Callaway X-22 Irons specs are outfitted with several core technologies, including both relatively new innovations and technologies that have stood the test of time. Callaway maximized the perimeter weighting of the X-22s to create a moment of inertia (MOI) that's 10 percent higher than earlier versions, giving you more leeway on off-center strikes. This boosts the club's overall forgiveness and stability, while still maintaining the center-of-gravity position that produces an ideal trajectory and feel. The Callaway X-22 Irons Variable Face Thickness (VFT) technology, meanwhile, maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting to create even more distance and forgiveness. And a crucial improvement comes in the form of the S2H2 design, a patented technology that shortens the length of the hosel, allowing the weight to be moved lower and to the more useful perimeter area of the clubhead. Add in a 360-Degree Undercut Channel--which maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the center of gravity even lower and farther back--and you have a club that hits the ball far and straight even on rough swings.

Precision Notch Weighting
Precisely positions more weight to the perimeter of the iron to create a higher moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness and stability while maintaining the center of gravity position that produces ideal trajectories and feel.

Tru-BoreTour-Inspired Head Shape
Our engineers took elements designed for Tour players, like a thinner top line and narrower sole, and incorporated them into highly forgiving irons with a higher MOI so they can be played by a wide range of golfers.

Modified Tru-Bore
An advanced version of the original Tru-Bore design, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft dampens vibration for enhanced feel and performance.

As with most golf clubs in the current climate, the price has come down of late. However as with a lot of Callaway golf clubs, these irons are still not cheap.

Callaway X-22 Irons for sale

The goal of Callaway's X-Series Irons has always been lofty: Set the performance standard for the industry. Callaway has done it again with the X-22 Irons, the best X-Series Irons Callaway has ever made. The perimeter weighting of the Callaway X-22 irons for sale has been maximized for a moment of inertia (MOI) that’s 10 percent higher than their predecessors, meaning you get more forgiveness on off-center strikes. The ideal center of gravity position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories. Callaway has also incorporated the Modified Tru-Bore design, dampening vibration for enhanced feel. The tour-inspired head shape has a slightly thinner top line and sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness to boost your confidence.

Another good thing is that these irons don't hit the ball too high or too low. Various game improvement clubs in recent times have sometimes often produced a very high ball flight, but that generally isn't the case with these X-22s.
The trajectory in general with the mid and lower irons was always quite powerful and very penetrating. Making it a lot less likely that shots will be grabbed and taken away by high winds, when playing in such conditions.
In terms of distance though, despite the powerful ball flight, the Callaway X-22 irons don't really give you any more yardage than most others on the market. However accuracy and forgiveness are always more important qualities to look for in an iron.

The Callaway X-22 Irons don’t disappoint and are the best X Series irons Callaway Golf has ever created. By maximizing perimeter weighting, these irons boast an MOI that’s 10 percent higher than their predecessors. The ideal CG position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories.

Callaway X-22 Irons Reviews

They are designed and weighted with the idea of giving you more distance, and greater forgiveness. The Callaway X-22 Irons Reviews are the most recent clubs in the X series, and thus the latest in a long line of clubs regarded by many as a market leader in terms of game improvement and forgiveness.

With a slightly thinner design than most game other improvement clubs. These irons didn't have the usual chunkier appearance, and in fact looked quite good at address, and feeling comfortable at address is something that's very important if you are to trust an iron.
In terms of forgiveness the X-22s definitely turn out to be a very trust-worthy set of irons. From what we saw you definitely do not need to hit these clubs perfectly to produce a reasonable shot, even on the more intimidating longer irons.

When Best Golf Equipment Reviews mentioned that the Callaway X22 irons had perimeter weighting, we should clarify it using Callaway's terminology. Callaway likes to say that the X22 golf clubs have a precision notch weighting. This type of weighting allows Callaway to precisely position weight on the golf club to create a higher moment of inertia. This then generates one of the most forgiving golf clubs while not altering the center of gravity and messing up the trajectory. Callaway has starting using the VFT technology in most of its golf clubs these days. VFT stands for Variable Face Thickness and when used in irons it lowers the center of gravity creating the perfect trajectory. That perfect trajectory results in a higher launch angle in the lower irons and better control of trajectory in the shorter irons.

The problem with irons over time has been the look of them. Usually only tour heads looked clean and aesthetically nice. That has changed in the Callaway X22 irons. The Callaway X22 irons are a result of many hours of engineers consulting with professional golfers to come up with a clean looking club head designed for amateur players.
